Warren is Michigan’s third-largest city and it runs on shift work. Both facts shape how auto glass gets done here.

If you can have it done where you work, do. It is the single biggest convenience available on a job like this and it costs nothing.
Roads that break glass
Van Dyke, Mound Road, 8 Mile and I-696 carry heavy truck and aggregate traffic continuously, and Warren sits at the intersection of several of them. Combined with winter road treatment and a long reconstruction history, that produces a steady supply of stone chips rather than occasional dramatic strikes.
The same advice applies as elsewhere in Macomb and it is the cheapest advice in this trade: a chip repaired in autumn is a chip. After a Michigan January it is a windshield. Freeze-thaw does the damage, and it does it overnight.
Paying directly
A substantial share of calls in this part of the metro are from drivers carrying liability only, which given Michigan premiums is entirely unremarkable. You get the cash number before work starts, and an honest answer on whether a repair will serve instead of a replacement.
